Little Rewards for a Happier, Healthier You
If it’s your goal to be healthy and happy, you have to work at it. Sometimes life gets in the way of your goals, but you’ll be more likely to stay on task if you get rewarded now and then. It doesn’t have to be expensive to mean something, and little rewards can have a big impact.
Take a Few Minutes
If you’re short on time, you can take a few minutes out to enjoy something special. Maybe it’s reading a chapter in a book or drinking a cup of tea. Choose something that makes you feel good and cared for. It doesn’t require a lot of time to reward yourself, but it will make you feel better all day.
Buy a Treat
If you never splurge on yourself, set a reward to buy something that’s relevant to your goal to be healthier and happier. Maybe it’s a new outfit if you lose weight or a new piece of equipment for your hobby. It should be something you look forward to getting, but also an item that will encourage you to keep working on your goals.
Invite a friend to come along with you to the gym or to go for a walk. It’s more fun doing anything when you do it with someone else. After weeks of working out on your own, it can be a nice reward to have company.
Plan an afternoon for yourself and get a massage or a pedicure. Do something nice for yourself which will encourage you to keep going to reach your goal. You may even choose to take the day off from work. Go to a movie or visit a tourist attraction.
The idea behind all of these little rewards is to treat yourself special. It will help you keep going to your goal and be a reminder of why you don’t want to give up even when it gets difficult. Choose rewards that matter to you and you’ll be inspired to work harder and reach them.
