Getting a Better Massage by Being Hydrated
If you want to achieve the optimum results from your massage sessions, one thing that you must not overlook is the importance of staying well hydrated. Keeping yourself hydrated is going to make a big difference in how you feel and function on a day-to-day basis, but also in how you feel as you go receive massage treatment.
Since the massage itself is going to be releasing toxins as well as clearing built-up byproducts from your body’s cells, staying well hydrated will help your body to flush out these products. If you are not staying well hydrated, you won’t reap all the benefits from your massage treatment.
Let’s go over what you need to know about being well hydrated.
Drink Well Before the Massage
First, you want to make sure that you are drinking water throughout the day before the massage so you begin your session in a fully hydrated state. One big error many people make is going in to a massage dehydrated.
Make sure that you are drinking at least 8 glasses of water each day to maintain adequate hydration.
Follow-Up with At Least 16 Ounces of Fluid
After your massage, you will want to drink at least 16 ounces of fluid. This will help with the flushing of toxins and waste out of your system.
For the greatest benefit, your post-massage drink should be water.
